"Since Cuba no longer provides any significant threat to American interests, there is no sense in continuing to punish the Cuban people with an embargo on trade [...] It is time to end the embargo on the export and import of goods and services between the United States and Cuba The Cuban people will benefit almost immediately."
The best way the US Government could honor Gary Becker would be by carrying out what he openly wished through his last post. I sincerely hope this happens.

I live in Chile. I've read countless post from you both. It's refreshing to read well written articles, about the most important issues that affect us all, and hear sound opinions based on hard facts.

I will miss you Becker. Keep the thinking, Posner.

Thanks.

While I took only one course with Professor Becker, I'm very sad to receive this news. My deepest condolences go out to Judge Posner on the loss of his friend and colleague.

RIP Prof Becker. I've been a big fan of this blog since I was introduced to it a couple years ago. Thanks for all commentary you guys have provided - it's helped greatly with my understanding of economics.

RIP Professor Becker, the world has lost an incredibly unique and creative intellect.

This blog and the honest, thoughtful and challenging perspectives of its authors are a significant contribution to our desire to better understand economics and human behaviour.

I will greatly miss the quality of insights posted here throughout the years and hope that the website will continue to be hosted for future readers.

How I have dearly loved the writing in this Blog. Professor Becker was a luminary in the world of academia - we have lost a truly brilliant thinker. A charming, magical story -- how he met his wife. I look forward to holding a copy of the book containing the Blog articles. No words can know your grief Judge Posner.
